Savannah

On our way to Savannah, we stopped at a rest area & enjoyed some of the cake Yazmin's mom made for us. Yazmin is Megan's friend (wearing the green shirt).
It was so hot that day & the sun was really bright. Ahhhh...it felt so good.
Megan just HAD to play with the water at the rest area.
Once we made it to the hotel, the girls just had to hang out by the pool for a bit. Nicole & I didn't want to get in, but we did want to enjoy the sun.
Megan & Yazmin went for a swim.

Nicole enjoyed reading a magazine outside...
In the evening, we went walking down the streets of Savanna. What a beautiful & old city it is.

There was a lot to see & lots of people to watch. (Kevin & I really enjoy watching people. --It's actually fun.)

There were lots of things to see in this shop. There were books of haunted places in Savannah. The girls were interested in the GHOSTS.

I found a cute pink hat. As many of you know, pink is my favorite color. :)

We waited for it to get dark so that we could go on a ghost tour....
As we waited for the tour to begin, we got up close & personal with the horses that were going to pull our carriage.

The horses were HUGE & quite intimidating but were very calm, and they even allowed us to pet them.

Then, we boarded the carriage to hear ghost stories & ride down the streets of Savannah were ghost (spirits) sometimes lurk.

After the ghost tour, we roamed the streets some more. We found a lovely candy store where candy was made right in front of us.

Below is the beginning of what was to become mint taffy.

Ummmm....it smelled yummy in the store.

Taffy in the early stages...
Here, a man was cutting the taffy, and it dropped down into some paper where a machine wrapped them up.

Below, is the finished product. Oh, and the candy makers would throw free samples of the candy at us to catch & enjoy. :D

I wish we could share all of our pictures, but as I have mentioned before, it takes WAY to long to download the pictures. (Thank you Nicole for taking the time to download thise pics.) ANYHOW, there were other kinds of candy being made there. They had cotton candy, some type of chocolate & nut clusters of candy (soooooo yummy). Ahhhhh, I would have loved to stay in that store the entire day.

Later, we found a pizza parlor and enjoyed eating pizza outside.

The pizza was AMAZING. I'm not sure if it was the pizza itself that was so good or if it was the experience of being out on the streets, outside, seeing so much with people that I love.

By the time we made it back to the hotel, we were completely beat! We all had a great day.
