...And Who Should We See?.....

We went to Five Guys tonight....and WHO should I see? My Megan was hard at work. She was everywhere! When we walked in, she took our order. Later, she was wiping tables, sweeping the floor and restocking napkins.

It's still hard for me to believe that my baby is growing up. Uhhhhh....the years have flown by way too quickly.

Soup Nite

As usual, we came home from work hungry & ready to eat. So,...taco soup for dinner it was. I really should make this more often because it's quick & easy to make, AND everyone loves it. Megan especially loves my taco soup. Ummm.... I know what we will be having again for dinner tomorrow night. :)

Doing Homework?...

So, tonight I was trying to find a computer to use, but these little computer hogs were using them both. When I asked them what they were doing, they both said they were doing their homework. Hmmm.... Now, I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I think they were Facebooking.
Come on now! Who smiles so much while doing homework?

Oh, and check out Nicole's screen. ???? That looks like Facebook to me!

Art Work

I love the fact that Megan still draws & colors pictures for me, even though she is 16 years old. When my girls were little, they would draw & color pictures for me all of the time, and I so loved their "art work." This picture just put a big smile on my face. :)

Creepin'

Kevin & I wanted to watch Megan "work" at her new job, so we drove to Five Guys, turned off the lights & parked right in front of the restaurant. Nobody even noticed that we were there. We didn't want to be spotted, so we took only one picture with my cell phone. Later, I had to zoom in to see my Megan. She's all the way on the left. :)

Is the creeping normal? I was only trying to watch my baby at her first job. :D I sincerely think that one day she will thank me for this picture. Of course, it won't be for another 20 years or so. ;)

No Kiddos

So our kids left us all by ourselves on Friday night. Since Megan has a J.O.B. at Five Guys now, she had to go to work. Her friend Yazmin came over for a few minutes after school & then they both left for work. Yazmin too has a job. She works at the Salad Express & Megan helped get the job. It's really funny because these two eateries are right next to each other. :)

Nicole too had something to do. She went to a friend's house to help her babysit, and she spent the night too.

Here's Nicole trying to get her stuff ready before she left. Kevin & I were telling her to stay with us, but she wanted to go.

Again, Kevin & I didn't know what to do without our girls. I went walking, and later, Kevin & I went to see a movie. We saw "For Colored Girls" (or something like that). I really thought it was going to be better because it's a Tyler Perry movie. My advice to you,....don't go see it. Wait until it comes out on DVD.

Off for Veterans' Day

Both Kevin & I had Veterans' Day off. So, what were we suppose to do? The kids had school, so we couldn't bring them along with us. We started by going to Wollie World to get Kevin some glasses. Now that he's almost in his MID 40's, he needs help seeing. Of course, he was just being silly & tried these glasses on. I took a picture of him & sent it to Megan & Nicole, and I told them that THESE were the glasses he wanted. Nicole quickly sent me a text & told me not to let him get this pair. hehehehe....
Around lunch time, we went & had some BBQ. Yummy! We ALWAYS go to Smoky Bones when we have a day off together & the girls are in school. Do we feel badly for not taking our children? No, we have taken them to Smoky Bones & they really didn't care of it. So, that's where we go when the kids are off at school

Later, we came home & relaxed on this comfy couch. Oh how I love this couch. :) Ahhhhh...it's like Heaven in my living room. :) I took a nap on it, and Kevin napped on the floor. Later, we were just being silly while the girls were out of the house.

We had a nice day off. AND, do you know what made it better? The fact that we had Friday off too! :) I just love 4 day weekends.

Girls Nite Out II

Tonight, the girls & I went out to Panera Bread. We had broccoli soup in the bread bowls. I don't know which was better, the soup or the bowl. I will tell you that the company was great!
Thank you, girls for taking me out again. :D

Girls Nite Out I

Kevin went TDY (Temporary Duty - aka as a business trip) to Indiana. He, along with some of his coworkers, went to check out some military working dogs. Since the girls and I were alone, we decided to have a "Girls Nite Out" and go to the movies. We watched "Easy A" which I am positive Kevin was happy he didn't have to watch. ;) I have to admit, I didn't think I was going to like the movie, but I did enjoy it. We laughed a lot, and there was a lesson that the girls could take from it.

Dallas Cowboys

OK, so Kevin is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, AND he's been a faithful fan. I took the picture above BEFORE the game started - hence the smile. (I think he actually thought they were going to win. ???) ANYHOW, I took the picture below AFTER the Cowboys got their butts whooped by the Green Bay Packers.

Maybe they will have a better season NEXT year. ;)

Halloween... Something Pretty....

As I think back to the years of the past, Megan & Nicole have never wanted to be anything ugly for Halloween. They have been witches, but they were pretty witches. They have been angels with wings, brides, etc, but it's always been something pretty.... :) Something just don't change.

Here's Nicole before she left for a Halloween party.

Yazmin (pictured on the left) and Megan had work to do. They were beautifying themselves. LOL These girls didn't go anywhere for Halloween. Instead, they stayed at the house. They did have other teenagers come over & they played games, laughed, and made a lot of noise.

Gotta love these kids! :)

By the way, these girls were posing with the tweezers & the Nair. :P

Watermelon

Those of you who know me well, know that my favorite fruit is watermelon. During the summer, we would sit outside & eat watermelon in the evenings. While we were out eating watermelon in the back yard, we would pour the seeds & extra liquid in the yard. So, guess what grew in the back yard! Yep, a watermelon plant grew! We really didn't pay much attention to it until today, and Kevin decided to uproot the plant & get rid of it. To our surprise, there was this little tiny watermelon. (Look at the size compared to a pen.) Isn't it cute! Of course I cut it open, but it looked more like a cucumber inside. It did, however, smell like watermelon. Apparently, it still needed to go and mature. :D

The Acevedo's Visit

Emilia (my sister), Pancho (her hubby) & Carmen (my niece) stopped by to visit today. Even though their visit was very brief, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We ate, talked and laughed until 1:30 a.m. We laughed so much that my face became sore from all of the laughing. It was so good to have these family memebers visit. There's only one bad thing; it makes me miss my family much more. I can't wait until Thanksgiving to see everyone in Texas.

Oh, and I am mad at Kevin. Just so you all know, Kevin didn't want to help me take pictures.

:( We put the camera away & said we would take more later, but we never did. THANKS A LOT, Kevin.

Sunday Day

I can't believe that I slept in until 1030 this morning! Now, THAT'S exactly what weekends are for. Since we went to Mass yesterday, we had the day to do whatever we wanted, so I got up, showered and got ready with Megan. We chatted, shared makeup & enjoyed the rest of the morning. After everyone was ready, we went to lunch at TGIF's. It was actually pretty good, although we hadn't been to a TGIFs since our trip to New Orleans back in 2004. Later, we hit the mall.

At the mall, Kevin & I decided to let the girls look around, and we did our own thing. We went to my favorite (Cinnabon) and went to several stores. After a while, we grew tired & sat down to watch people go by. As we sat there watching people go by, I examined Kevin's "Five Finger" shoes just a little closer..... hehehehe.....They are kinda neat. (See picture below.)

Here's Kevin showing off his shoes.
Can you tell we were entertaining ourselves while we waited for the girls? :) I'm happy that Kevin came with us to the mall. If he wouldn't have come with us, I would have been sitting by myself while the girls shopped. I actually thought that Kevin would have rather been home watching the Dallas Cowboys play. He did mention that he would rather be with us. :)

Unique Pumpkin

On our trip to Walmart today, we decided to check out the pumpkins. Eeewwww....this pumpkin really caught our eyes. It's definitely unique. And, NO, we didn't buy it. Just looking at this pumpkin makes me itch and think of warts or some type of fungal growth. YUCK!

So Behind on Blogging!!

OK, so I haven't been blogging like I have been wanting for several reasons. The biggest reason I haven't been blogging is because I have been SOOOO tired lately. When I get home from work, I'm usually exhausted & want to walk before it gets too late. Then, there are other days in which, I just wanna EAT. So, I skip the walk, eat, shower, and then get lazy on the couch. :/ I would say that I have gotten lazy, but that wouldn't be right either; there's always something going on or I'm just beat. So, ..... I blogged yesterday, and will try to finish up some of the blogs I started but never finished or published. Maybe now I get get back on track, because I do enjoy blogging. :D

X Country Meet - Carrolton, GA

Megan's crosss country meet was in Carrolton, GA. So we waited for all the girls to line up & get ready to run. (Pics aren't great because I forgot the camera and used my phone to take pics.)
Brrr....it was cold, but we dressed to keep warm & brought blankets with us.

Here, they were taking off.
We caught a glimpse of Megan running.

Megan's friends running...

In the end, Megan finished her 5k (3.1 miles) run in 22 minutes & 19 seconds.
Megan's friend, Adam, came to the meet with us. Since he was cold, we let him use the Pooh Bear blanket. :D

We were all so happy for Megan & were there to support her & cheer her on.Good times!
