A Visit to the Podiatrist
I took the day off to see a podiatrist about my bunions. I actually have one on each foot, although one hurts much more than the other. To make a long story short, I was scheduled to have surgery on my left foot on 9 Aug. :(

Brittanie Leaves
Before we had to take Brittanie to the airport, we stopped by for breakfast at IHOP.
Later, we had to make our way to the airport. :( :(
Since Brittanie is a minor, we were allowed to take her all the way to the gate. Brittanie is a smart cookie, and I know she would have been able to make her way to where she needed to be, but this worked in our favor some. We got to see her just a little bit more.
Below: Brittanie & Nicole saying goodbye. The tears came a few seconds later. :( We all cried because we love Brittanie so much. Oh how I wish we didn't have to give her back to her parents. :(

Army Soldier Show Comes to Atlanta
We were so excited because the Army Soldier Show was coming to ATL!!
Here's a little background information on the Army Soldier Show. Soldiers, from many different occupations, compete to be part of the Army Soldier Show, which travels all around the world performing for other Soldiers & family members for an entire year. These Soldiers train vigorously to deliver a first-class performance (similar to a Broadway show).
We LOVE to see our talented Soldiers perform . WOW is all I can say. I wish you guys could have been there to experience the grand performance.

Brittanie Arrives
Brittanie, Nicole's best friend from Kentucky, came to visit us. :) Yay! We were ALL so excited and couldn't wait for her to arrive! She was suppose to arrive at 9:45 PM, but her flight was delayed due to bad weather. She finally made it to Atlanta about 12:45 or 1:00 AM.
Can you tell how happy these girls were to see each other? Just look at those beautiful smiles!

Walking in the Rain
Megan & I decided to walk together this evening. As soon as we walked out the door to start our afternoon walk, I immediately felt the humidity in the air; it hit like a ton of HOT bricks. We walked fast & had a nice workout. It was soooooo hot, and it felt like rain was going to come. Sure enough, the rain came and caught us a bit off guard, and it began to POUR down. Megan & I tried to take shelter under some trees, which helped some. Since I had my cell phone with me, I called Nicole & asked her to bring some umbrellas so that we could walk back home. Nicole came with two huge umbrellas. By that point, Megan & I were completely soaked, so she decided to run around the pond, in the rain to try & cool off some. :) Nicole & I finished walking around the pond as it continued to pour. Later, Megan joined us in our walk. Of course, Nicole & I were using umbrellas, but Megan didn't want to use one. :) What was the point?..

Work, Work, Work
I stopped by work for a few, and I brough my helper, Nicole, with me. (She's so sweet.) I only wanted to pop in for a few minutes, but before I knew it, we had been there for six hours! Geez, that's not what I'm suppose to do on my Saturday OFF. Uhhhh... With Nicole's help, we got a LOT accomplished. She helped me shred, organize, file and clean up my area. Thanks Nicole for all of your help.

Flowers
Kevin & I see these flowers every day on our way home from work. We see them as we are about to merge onto I-85 South, and I always tell Kevin that I wish I could take a picture of them, but since traffic normally flows quickly, it's impossible to take a picture. Today, however, a picture taking opportunity presented itself. I was driving back home from work, and there was a traffic JAM. Since traffic wasn't moving much, I was able to take these pictures. I took these pictures with my phone camera & from a distance. I realize they aren't the best, but I did want to share these with you all. I think this is the prettiest field of wild flowers I have ever seen.
